About Prism Horse Studio
Prism Horse Studio is a premier hybrid mixing and overdub facility in South Austin, built around a meticulously tuned listening environment where world-class analog sonics meet the precision of modern digital production. Centered on a Tonelux console, an extensive collection of carefully selected outboard equipment, and a Pro Tools HD hybrid workflow, the studio is designed to deliver records with exceptional depth, clarity, and musicality.
The studio is the creative home of producer and mix engineers Tim Palmer and Travis Kennedy, whose partnership brings together decades of experience spanning some of the most influential recordings of the past forty years alongside today's modern productions.
Tim Palmer is internationally recognized for his work with artists including Pearl Jam, U2, David Bowie, Robert Plant, Tears for Fears, Ozzy Osbourne, The Psychedelic Furs, The Cure, and countless other landmark recordings. His unmistakable sonic signature has helped define generations of rock music and earned him a reputation as one of the industry's most respected producers and mixers.
Travis Kennedy began his career at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York City before spending more than a decade under Tim Palmer's mentorship. Over the course of his career, Travis has accumulated more than 500 recording credits on projects totaling over 300 million streams while establishing himself among the industry's top mixing engineers. In addition to music production, he has worked extensively in television and film as a location sound mixer, collaborating with Robert Rodriguez, Troy Kotsur, Eric Andre, Jordan Davis, and productions for Peacock, NBC, Shutterstock, Tecovas, Doc Martens, and many others.
Today, that mentor-student relationship has evolved into a true creative partnership. While Tim and Travis each continue to mix and produce independent projects, they regularly collaborate on select productions, giving artists the rare advantage of two accomplished mixers bringing complementary perspectives to every stage of the creative process. Their combined experience bridges timeless analog craftsmanship with innovative production techniques, resulting in records that are both emotionally compelling and sonically exceptional.
